| The Portland Eagles and Portland Penguins Memorabilia Collection |
Much of the memorabilia of the Portland Eagles and Portland Penguins featured on this page came from the family of Pat Desbiens. The family is very proud of Pat and his dedication to the many roles he filled throughout his life-time. Pat was a great father and husband, PCHL/WHL hockey player, WHL Line-man, long-time Portland businessman and friend to many in the community of Portland throughout his lifetime. The memorabilia on this page is intended to preserve his legacy, and
that of his teammates, for the many fans and friends that knew Pat during his days in Portland.
I want to express my personal gratitude to Barry Desbiens and his lovely wife, for entrusting me with these items. These items are not only a part of their heritage as a family, but also are part of the heritage of hockey in Portland. Their hope is that you will enjoy these items as much as they do, and that it will help preserve the memory of the Eagles and Penguins for generations to come.

Pat Desbiens 1949 PCHL All-Star Game invitation
Pat Desbiens in 1948-1949 had another outstanding year in the Pacific Coast Hockey League with the Eagles, scoring 50 goals and adding 25 assists for 75 points. This was Pat's second year in a row that he had scored 50 or more goals in a season after also leading the league in goals scored with 68 in 1947-1948. Pat's nick-name that year was the "Hat Trick King" due to the seven (7) hat tricks he scored during the season. |

Portland Eagles 48" x 60" Wood-Framed Action Photo/Print
This large photo/print of action between the Portland Eagles and the Seattle Ironmen is absolutely spectacular. It hung in the office of Pat Desbiens when he owned a number of gas stations in Portland and then hung in his son, Barry's office for many years. Due to it's size and clarity you can actually recognize almost every player in the photo. It is a masterliece that has survived for more than 50 years!! |

Puck |

This second Art Ross CCM puck signed by players on the 1948-1949 Portland Eagles Hockey Club may have originally also been given away as a promotion for the "Bernie Cantor Film Club" in Portland, however it did not come with the box, so I cannot state that as fact. However, there seems to be
an attempt to get all the team signatures on to the second puck, that did not make it on to the one above.
This puck is signed by the following Portland Eagles players: Doug Carrigan, Alex "Sandy" Milne, Frank Davis, Hugh Sutherland,
Pat Desbiens, Johnny Savicky, Rudy Bobrosky and Johnny Horvath.
